You Can Google Me

Google is far more intelligent than I gave it credit for. I had no idea that google analytics existed until now. This week I’m feeling the pressure of google judging me, my site, my product, and charging me based on their opinion… it’s like working for a raise, but the opposite… I’m a little bit confused how it all works so I am excited for everything to come together so I can really experience the full package of having a website. I had no idea so much went into it! Taking this course has opened my eyes to the complexity of the sites I visit when I am browsing the web. Now that I know firsthand how much work goes into the smallest details, I respect the people behind the curtain so much more. I’ve been thinking a lot about this career path of web design and wondering if I’ll ever be comfortable enough with the tools and processes to make this a full time gig. We are taking months to complete each step slowly and thoroughly and I still feel overwhelmed! I can’t imagine working with fast paced deadlines. One day I’ll get there but that is definitely not today.

To say I feel like a coding geek is an understatement; I feel so smart right now guys, it isn’t even funny. I made a button, yes, a BUTTON. And it works! Can you believe it?? Yeah me neither. Ready, Set, We're Live!

This week I am feeling good about my website. I am really excited about creating it but I get so caught up in the details I feel like it will take me forever to complete it! I hope my business idea is something that can be successful. Earlier this week I took a poll on Instagram to see if people would pay for my service and over 70% of people said they would. I changed my mind on what I am basing my website on, hopefully it will come together quickly. I want to create a hub for all things fitness and within it, offer a service of creating a healthy grocery list within the customers set budget. My website will give options to purchase different packages for different family sizes, e-books on fitness, links to recipes and articles. If I can make this turn out how I am envisioning it in my head, it will be a really great website that people will find useful! I am trying to stick to things I love so that my passion shines through my product.

Decisions, Decisions

This week assignments have left me overwhelmed. There are so many things I want to do with my life, so many talents I want to expound on, so many opportunities I want to explore; and yet, when I have to write them down I can't put them into words. There are a million things that are going through my head regarding what kind of business I want to build in this class and the limiting factors are making it difficult to decide. There are ideas I have that will take dedicated hours of manufacturing that I simply don't have. There are other ideas that seem to simple and easy that I want to disregard them completely; I want to feel proud of my product or service. There are some ideas that are a piece of me and that I know I would put my whole heart into, but do I have enough time to make it successful in the span of a few months? So many questions that are both intimidating and exciting!
